Meet Our Psychologist
Megan Nichols, M.S., Psy.D. (pronouns: she/her)
I am honored that you are considering working with me. I am the owner and Licensed Psychologist here at Collective Growth Psychology. I believe in building collaborative relationships with families and supporting your goals.
I have worked with children for over 20 years, first as a preschool teacher, then special education elementary school teacher and as a psychologist. I was licensed as a psychologist in 2016. I believe in building a collaborative relationship with families and supporting their goals.
I grew up in Oregon, moved to NYC for undergraduate studies at New York University where I majored in Psychology. I stayed in NYC and worked as a special education teacher in an elementary school teaching grades 1-5 while getting a Masters in Special Education with a specialization in learning disorders. My graduate studies then took me to Chicago where I obtained a Psy.D in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in children and adolescents. I also worked as a mental health and special education consultant to Head Start for many years during that time.
During my training, I worked in a variety of settings including a therapeutic day school, developmental clinic and a psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents. I moved back to Oregon in 2015 and worked on a large interdisciplinary team at Albertina Kerr’s Children’s Developmental Health Services (CDHS). I provided evaluations and treatment for children under 12 with developmental and behavioral challenges. When CDHS closed, I joined the Children’s Program where I specialized in the evaluation and treatment of young children with trauma, behavioral challenges and neurodevelopmental differences, including autism and ADHD. Before starting Collective Growth Psychology, LLC, I worked at JUST Psychological Services evaluating young children as well as doing academic assessments.
I love spending time outdoors with my family, camping, hiking, traveling, drinking coffee in the mornings, and reading. As a family, we enjoy road trips and new adventures.
